I will never forget that day, the people; the heroes.

When I awoke that morning, the first tower had been hit and the second plane hit within seconds of me turning on the news. I was stunned, horrified and and scared.  I knew that thousands of people worked in the towers and those towers were like vertical cities.  I later learned of the other planes; the Pentagon; the crash of flight 93 in Shanksville, PA.

The world saw us take a horrible beating that day; we were on the ropes, but we never went down.  The world saw us - the United States of America, stand united in defiance and wave a fist at the enemy.  Well, I am still waving that fist and I have not forgotten.

The world also saw us at our best; the heroes that came from everywhere; the FDNY and NYPD, a multitude of total strangers, all helping strangers while risking life and limb.  People from every walk of life, every religion and faith and from many countries died that day - do not forget them.  Do not forget the heroes on flight 93 - they fought for their freedom...and their lives. They saved who knows how many with their sacrifice!

Stand tall and wave a defiant fist at the enemy.  Say a prayer for our troops, that they may be safe and can return home soon, that they will have rooted out the evil that wants to consume what we call freedom!  Pray that once again the world will look up to the US as a proud, strong and fair country.  Pray for our President - he may not be perfect, none of them are, but he is our President, duly elected and he makes difficult decisions that would cause many people who face them to cease functioning.  Pray for the families that lost loved ones that day.

Finally, pray for our children, that they will not have to endure a country tortured by those who would take our freedoms and cast them aside in the name of radical Islam!

Stand tall, stand proud, and remember that freedom is not free, but has been paid for time and time again, with the blood of our fathers, mothers, sons and daughters.  To back down is to say what they sacrificed was worthless.  I am sick every time I hear of another military death, but it is necessary, we must let the world and the terrorists know we will not back down and we will not give up.  I say "Thank You!" to our troops.  We are proud! We are strong! We are FREE! We are US Americans!
