False Reports and Phishing Scams

It is becoming commonplace to get tons of spam every day. Unfortunately, some of it appears to be official in nature.

In recent months there has been a new Phishing Scheme (hackers tricking you into giving up important information). See My Biz has fallen prey to these schemes and emails abound with the SeeMyBiz name in the email and saying that your email account is in jeopardy of suspension, or you have violated some section of the terms of service and you will be deactivated unless to follow a link.

I want to assure you all that these emails are a hoax and are of a malicious nature; clicking on the links in the email can lead you to a false form where your information will be stripped and used by hackers.

The other possibility is that the link will download a trojan program into your computer that will turn your computer into a bot. A bot does things without you knowing, like sending spam and/or gathering keystrokes which may contain you financial logins and other important information. A bot is a very bad thing!

Please keep your system updated with the latest revisions of anti-spyware and anti-virus programs.
